Into the Wild

Managed by:

Dudendance Theatre

Project Description

This cultural arts project will involve local residents in undertaking research into the history of Battlehill Woods and to create theatrical and cinema performances linked to Halloween events in Huntly.  This project is innovative and has a strong community focus, engaging with all age groups but particularly focusing on working with young people in film production techniques and dance.  The Woods are a popular recreational area owned and managed by Aberdeenshire Council and the project fits well with community aims for the woodlands.

Quote from Participating Organisation

Clea Wallis, Artistic Director, Dudendance Theatre:

“Dudendance are delighted to be offered the funding from LEADER to support their Public Art project Into the Wild.  The funding will allow Dudendance to work with collaborative artists who will work directly with the local community collecting oral histories and interesting stories relating to Battlehill Woods.  The resulting performances planned for the woods and at Huntly Halloween will serve and be seen by a wide spectrum of the community and instil pride in those who took part in the project.”
