Aboyne Centre Enhancement Scheme
Managed by:
Mid Deeside Ltd
Project Description
The project aims to revitalise the town centre of Aboyne and is being delivered in partnership between the public and private sectors. The project to enhance retail and commercial outlets in Aboyne has developed after Scottish Enterprise commissioned a feasibility study to identify improvements that could be made. The aim is to improve shop frontages and increase retail activity in the village. The premises will be encouraged to enhance frontages in Victorian style, where appropriate, with a view to complementing the village’s architectural style.
Complementing the enhancement programme, a marketing plan will be developed to promote the area and encourage tourists and locals into the centre of Aboyne.

We are delighted to have been successful in our application for LEADER funding. The Aboyne Centre Enhancement Scheme is an excellent example of the private, public and community sectors working together to bring real benefit to a community.
This project and the other work which is being planned to improve signage around the village will make Aboyne even more attractive to visitors and residents and help bring about sustainable economic development. We will continue to work with our partners to deliver this project on the ground. LEADER funding will make this possible.
